Overview

Vexillologists.com is a passion project created by VM. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights around that data. We collect only what is necessary to run the site.

Information We Collect

• Account Data – we store your username and a hashed (never plain text) password.
• Quiz Metrics – your highest streak and total games played are stored so we can show them on the leaderboard and in your profile.
• Session Data – a cookie keeps you logged in between page loads. No tracking cookies are used.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your real name or any personal identifiers beyond a username and "first" or "last" names of your choosing.
• We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
• We do not sell or share your data with any third parties.

How We Use Your Data

Your username and statistics are used solely to power the leaderboard and personalise your quiz experience (i.e. showing your current streak and high score). No data is used for marketing or profiling.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your account and all associated data are retained for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and all related data at any time from the settings page.

Security

Passwords are hashed using a sophisticated algorithm before being stored. We use HTTPS in production to protect data in transit.
